congrats on getting in! Vinton is AMAZING. I’m in NCCC there right now, it’s a small town but it’s super cute and the staff there is beyond exceptional! As far as a comparison..you’ll be partaking in FEMAcorps second year so it’s still a new program. From what I hear it’s different from what a lot of people expected which led to disappointment..it’s A LOT of paper work! Also the traveling is a little intense, you may not know exactly where you’re going or living in advance. However with NCCC the program has been around a while, I’m class 19 so we’re pretty well worked out all the kinks and it’s much more in stone (however, NCCC is all about flexibility)…I’m considering applying for FEMAcorps for the future but I’m not sure, still going back and forth! I’m sure it’ll be great though :)

I hate NCCC so much, and I haven’t even started yet.

Thanks for scheduling an appointment the day after my birthday, without consulting me. Because I also kind of work a ton. So if I could just pick a day, and not you. THAT’D BE REALLY FUCKING NICE. 

Sorry that it’s scheduled like that, but I can tell you now from experience..the program is ALL about flexibility..sometimes you’ll be turned around upside down…plans change in an instant. But the program is amazing, and you’ll get a lot more out of it than I bet you expect. Just try to roll with the punches, and good luck on getting in.

Americorps

I haven’t blogged much on here about Americorps or my experience just because this is mainly for MY thoughts and life, Americorps is a huge part of my life now but it’s not me entirely - I need a place where I can still laugh and see things I personally like…thus it hasn’t taken over tumblr yet. I do have an Americorps blog though that’s specifically for sharing with family and what not, I update it fairly often.

However I do understand many people search tumblr tags for Americorps NCCC so if anyone on here ever has any questions about the program feel free to message me on here and ask :) I think it’s a lovely program everyone should partake in if possible…so yeah just ask anything! I know I searched the tags a lot when I was applying so I know the feels.
